Alien wire, as standard is a moderately complicated wire to produce. It is similar in some ways to a fused clapton but with a difference. The wire used to wrap has already been coiled diagonally once around a core wire (or claptoned) and then removed and stretched out slightly. The resulting wire is once again coiled round a core to give the wrap a wavy pattern.

Our Alien coils use a 0.3mm x 0.8mm flat wire as the core with a 32 gauge kanthal A1 wrap. This is then coiled at 0.45 ohms.
